About LSM

Little Samaritan Mission is an independent and non-profit organization committed to assisting impoverished and underprivileged children and individuals in developing countries in the areas of education, medical relief, sustainable development projects and general humanitarian aid. LSM was founded on Christian principles of charity and this basis serves as the motivation and inspiration to serve the humanitarian needs of adults and children in the areas outlined below:

Education:

LSM identifies children in typically rural areas that are from at-risk and impoverished backgrounds and provides some of the essential ingredients of education such as, but not limited to school supplies, books, physical education equipment, and season appropriate clothing. In addition to these key supplies, LSM has developed an after-school program in rural areas where children receive assistance from a teacher as well as a nourishing meal. LSM continues to assess the need for educational projects in rural areas and to implement projects to sustain educational goals with the scope of narrowing the gap between these poverty stricken children and those in developed countries while working closely with local and national governmental sectors to achieve these goals.

Medical:

LSM identifies areas in developing areas where children and adults do not have access to adequate health care and coordinates doctors/dentists/ nurses to organize medical volunteer teams. LSM also operates its own medical clinic in Sofia and also coordinates shipments and procurement of medical equipment for hospitals and clinics in Moldova.

Development:

LSM aims to meet key needs while preserving a healthy environment so that these needs can be met not only in the present, but also in the future. LSM seeks projects, which can provide impoverished individuals and families with basic equipment and aid to provide for their immediate needs as well as to encourage a responsible approach where they will be able to earn a small income in addition to providing for themselves.

Humanitarian relief:

LSM seeks to provide relief to the most socially vulnerable individuals. To meet this need LSM is committed to provide nourishment through food programs, such as the Soup Kitchen. In emergency situations (flood, drought, winter storms) LSM responds by providing food and other supplies.

LSM works in developing areas according to its capabilities and resources to achieve humanitarian, educational, medical, and development goals for a better and healthier present and a more promising future for the children and individuals it is privileged to serve. LSM does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, political affiliation, or gender but offers relief to all equally.
